Tuesday Tell All: Summer is Sweet

“Does your family have a favorite summer recipe, favorite snow cone, ice cream or frozen treat….we’d love to hear about it.”

Well, sweets are not a huge part of our life in general. This is not because we are health conscious, we just prefer the saltier fair.

My favorite summer meal is hoagie sandwiches. I get the fresh baked hoagie rolls from Macey’s any time I can. From there we put whatever sandwich toppings we have. Tonight mine had mayo, mustard, pickles, lettuce and turkey. I think I could eat another one right now.

Another thing we eat a lot is fruit. I love buying all the fresh produce around and eating it all up. My most recent favorites were the white peaches at Maceys, the cantelope at the road side stand, and the strawberries form costco.

Tuesday Tell All: Do You Work Out?

I am not as dedicated as I was before I was pregnant, but that’s okay, right? I go walking in the morning twice a week. I try to do some kind of video (usually a p90x workout) once a week, and then twice a week I do some weights, lunges, floor work, and intense stretching (in front of the tv, that is my motivation. If I am really feeling it, I will do Yoga on Sunday evening. But, in all reality, I usually just do walking twice a week, then weights and stuff maybe one other night.

As soon as my 6 weeks are up after baby is born, I am going to do P90X religiously. It is a 90 day workout program that is supposed to get you in killer shape. I started it right before I got pregant, but then had to stop for obvious reasons.

If anyone is intersted in walking with me, let me know!

Tuesday Tell All: Graduation

High school graduation was soooo long ago. Okay, maybe not that long ago:) Here is what I remember:

June 2000: I wanted to do my hair in a soft curl, so I let it air dry and tried to make it look nice, but it ended up a big frizzy mess! At least I had my cap to cover it up, right? Our graduation was outside, and since our own school did not have a football stadium, we had to use our rivals football stadium across town (oddly enough, we also played our football games there, which made for an interesting rivalry game.) The cool part was, all three of my brothers graduated from said rival high school, so we still all graduated from the same stadium. I don’t remember much about the graduation, or immediately after. Later that night we had the “safe and sober” cruise. It was on a big boat that rode around the San Fransisco Bay I think. I remember I wore some cute jeans and bought a cute little jacket thing (cause everyone said it was so cold) Then when we got on the bus, all the girsl had on these flashy clubbin’ outfits, and I felt dumb. But, the boat was cool, it has a really yummy buffet, dancing on one level (the clubbin’ outfits soon made sense), karaoke on one, and then fake gambling on the upper. I was with two of my four best friends, and my boyfriend so we all had a good time, mostly talking and eating and watching people make fools of themselves. And by the end of the night, I was so glad I had dressed so warm! Two days later, I left for BYU.

My college gradation was August 2006, 6 weeks after Natalya was born. I like to brag that I was studying for finals when I was in the hospital with her, and taking final the following week. I graduated in sociology, and it was a proud day for me. I felt like it took me so long to get there, and the stress from having one kids, and then two. I was justs o happy I was able to say I did it! Trent also graduated, but chose to watch me from the stands with our family.

Tuesday Tell All

What Makes You Laugh

Lots of things make me laugh, But I will try and narrow it down…

My children make me laugh. Whenever Natalya dances, or sings, or gives me one of her cheesy grins. Tanner makes me laugh by how verbose he is sometimes. Also, when he wants something, he will come up and rub his face against mine and have this little voice “Mommy, can I have some fruit snacks”

My husband makes me laugh. Watching him play with the kids, playing video games with him, or watching funny shows or movies.

My friends make me laugh. I love it when we can just sit and laugh and joke.

I am a people watcher, so sometimes watching people, or kids especially, make me laugh. People do some random things sometimes, and I find it quite humorous!

My family makes me laugh. Being with my brothers and parents can sometimes get a little out of hand, but it and it is so funny! Trent’s family too, especially when all of Trent’s aunts get together, or late night board games with Trent’s Mom and sisters usually get me laughing uncontrollably.

Tuesday Tell All: Livin’ on the Edge

This week for “Tuesday Tell All” we are supposed to write about something daring we would if there was no risk involved.

I was talking to m friend Sarah eariler, and we were dicussing that we don’t like this topic because we DON”T live on the edge, and there is not anything we desire to do, even if there is no risk invovolved.

Then, I was reading some other Tuesday Tell All posts, and I found something I would do! I would either go deep sea diving, and explore the ocean (with no risk of getting

eaten right??)

Or, I would go on an African Safari and get up close and personal with all the wild animals. I think that would be so much fun (again, with no danger of being eaten).

Tuesday Tell All: Hand Made

I love the idea of handmade, however, I have not quite gotten into it yet. As I get older, I am hoping I can get a little more creative and do more! I do have some fantastic ideas, they just have come to fruition yet.

Here are some handmade thing that mean a lot to me:

This was my blessing dress, and now Natlaya’s blessing dress. It was made by my Grandma Amos. There is even little matching booties! My grandma used to knit us all little slippers too. I remember getting the for Christmas when I was younger, and we loved them!

These are quilt’s my mother-in-law has made for my kids. These mean a lot to me, and I know they will always be my kids special quilts!

This is something that I have made. Both Tanner and Natalya have one of these monogram signs. I painted them to match their room, and then I put the fabric from their quilts in the background. I had something like this growing up, well it was heart with my name written on it. It has always been special to me (and I still have it!) So, I hope these are just as special to my kids!

I have lots of stuff my mom has made. I think I have a few blankets she made, and a cabbage patch (she bought the head, and then made the body, some doll clothes, and I think a stuffed animal or two. I would go take pictures and show it off, but it is all in Natalya’s room and she is sleeping!

We also have a special quilt that Trent’s mom made Trent. It is made out of his grandma and grandpas old clothes! We love that quilt, and it will be one of those family quilts that everyone will fight over I am sure.
