Museum and Zoo Trip

Yesterday the kids and I went to the free museum day at the Utah Museum of Natural History on the U campus. We had a fun time running around and looking at everything. There were several school groups there when we went, so we kind of had to fight our way through. Tanner loved the mining cave, the cool rocks, and the little phone booth thingy. Natalya just loved running around everwhere!

Afterword we had a little picnic on the grass outside the museum. The kids had fun running around and playing. I loved the fact the the Pie Pizzeria was across the street and I could smell it the whole time. And for those who may be concerned, I was not contaminated while I was there, I still bleed blue.

Since gas prices are so high, I like to combine my trips all into one, so we hit the zoo too! It was a little busy when we got there, but most people started leaving then. The weather was perfect too, nice but overcast. I forgot our stroller, so I rented a wagon. The kids loved it, but anyone who has been to Hogle Zoo knows it is not a flat zoo, and it was not fun pulling the kids up the hills! When we were waiting in line to rent the wagon, the kids had fun trying on all the hats. I think Natalya really wanted one of them.

We had a good time, the animals were all pretty active so it was fun to watch them run around. Natalya is getting good at her animal sounds now too! There is a big elephant statue by the elephant encounter that sprays water out his nose. Tanner loved that the best I think, it terrified Natalya!
