Tulip Festival… Where’s the Tulips?

Today the kids and I went to the Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival! However, I was a little confused because I didn’t see any tulips. Apparently the tulips are delayed because of our cold spring, at least thats what I am assuming. Luckily, we have a year pass, so we didn’t have to pay, but the people who did where not very happy. I heard comment after comment: ” Well that was a disappointment” “Did I miss the tulips?”. Anyway, it was still a lot of fun for us, but if you are planning on going to see the tulips, you might want to wait a few weeks…

The kids favorite part was the secret garden fountain, and the light house in the children’s garden. Also, they loved the free windmill thingys (and it was really windy so they worked great!) and also rolling down the big amphitheater.

The kids wore themselves out walking up and down the amphitheater that I had to push both of them in the stroller.

When we were leaving, we finally saw some bloomed tulips. Natalya got so excited, she had to smell all of them!

That is such a bummer! I seriously can’t believe that they are selling tickets for a tulip festival with no tulips. Weird!

We went to the tulip festifal on Thursday and were disappointed to see so few blooming (especially since we don’t have a pass), but we did enjoy the secret garden and the lake with the fish and the nice, sunny weather!
