Earthquake?
We had a late night last night (post soon to come). We didn’t get home until almost 11:00pm, so Tanner was up at least until then. This morning he woke up at 6:45am. I was so mad, but he got right back into bed after he went potty, thank goodness. As I was laying in bed, anticipating Tanner to get up again, my mind was wondering and I was having trouble falling asleep. All of a sudden, the bed jolted and the double doors to our bedroom shook and made a noise (the same shaking noise they make when a large truck is driving by, or someone opens the front door). I thought, that was strange, was that an earthquake? I grew up in California, so I have been in my fair share of earthquakes ( all little, no major ones), so I know what they feel like. Anyway, I was like, no way, this is Utah! ThenĀ started thinking “where could there have been a major earthquake?” Salt Lake? No, it wasn’t strong enough here for there to have been one in Salt Lake. Eventually I fell asleep and had a dream that there was a 10.0 earthquake in Las Vegas and that it was completely destroyed, all the hotels completely crumbled. Anyway, when I woke up (at 9:00am thank you kids!) I turned on the news to see if it was an earthquake. Thank goodness for KSL and their over dramatization of it all. Apparently there was a 6 point something earthquake in Wells, Nevada. Kinda cool, but sad for them because it did a lot of damage in their little town, plus a lot of aftershocks. Makes you realize that no matter where you live, mother nature will take her course!
And just for the record, I did not, nor have I ever wished for there to be an earthquake, so no one can blame this on me:)

LOL! I didn’t even feel it, but I promise I will not blame you for this one.

Hey, I wouldn’t rule out a big earthquake in Utah. I remember that being in teh news quite a bit, that all the geologists were saying it’s bound to happen because you’re right on a fault line. SCARY!!! Well, I’m glad your family was ok!

Just for the record, the Wasatch is a MAJOR fault line. It doesn’t move very often which means that when it does it’s going to be big. Our quake is expected to be around 7.2 which is roughly 10 times stronger than the one in Wells. We are going to be looking at major damage. Anyway, just thought I would share that cheerful news with you. BTW I didn’t feel the quake yesterday, but I know a lot of people did.
